Guardians place SP Carrasco on IL, promote Curry

The Cleveland Guardians placed Tuesday's previously scheduled starter, Carlos Carrasco, on the injured list because of an acute neck spasm. The team recalled Xzavion Curry from Triple-A Columbus to step in for Carrasco and start Cleveland's home game Tuesday night against the New York Mets. Carrasco, a 37-year-old right-hander, was traded from Cleveland to the Mets, for whom he pitched the past three seasons.
